Mr.Onorius J.Njole
Born in Tanzania, Onorius John Njole was appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Muhimbili National Hospital on 18th January 2023 and currently sits in the Board on a second term. A mentor to many, having served as a Board member and advisor to various government institutions. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in governance matters to the Muhimbili Board.
As the Chief Parliamentary Draftsman of the United Republic, he is bestowed with the primary responsibility of advising the Government and its institutions on legislative matters, as well as a wide range of other legal and policy matters. Njole has developed 80% of his practice in legislative drafting, being a Postgraduate Diploma holder in this field.
As an accomplished legal advisor and seasoned lawyer for more than 20 years, Njole draws his experience and expertise from serving in strategic leadership and senior management roles in both the Government and public institutions, including the Office of the Attorney General and former Social Security Regulatory Authority, where he served as Secretary to the Board and thereafter Acting Director General.
Njole played an integral part in successfully seeing the harmonization of East African Community (EAC) Laws on the road to a stable Community. He also served in the Constitutional Review Commission where he was seconded as part of the Team of Constitution Drafting Experts, not to mention serving as the Chairman of the Technical Committee for Merging of Pension Schemes, 2018. Njole forms part of the composition of the Secretariat of the Joint Finance Commission and has also served as a member of the Public Prosecution Services Journal Editorial.
Notably, Njole has worked extensively with boards, including the Board of Trustees of the Workers Compensation Fund, the Board of Directors of the Tanzania Telecommunication Corporation (TTCL), Moshi Leather Industries Limited Board and the Private Hospitals Registration Board.
Njole holds an LLB from and Master’s Degree from the University of Dar Es Salaam. He is also an advocate of the High Court since the year 2012 and a member of the Public Bar Association. He is a Certified Board Director, registered by the Institute of Directors of Tanzania (IoDT) and is also a Chartered Pension Analyst Manager (CPAM) certified by the Global Academy of Finance and Management.
