Dr. Khadija I. Yahya-Malima (PhD)
Dr. Khadija I. Yahya-Malima (PhD) is a consultant epidemiologist with a nursing background and is currently, a lecturer at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Health Sciences (MUHAS), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She has more than sixteen years of experience working with national, regional and international experts in academia, public health interventions and within the health care system in Tanzania.
She has worked in different fields from academic leadership to the regulation of health care professionals; ethical regulation of biomedical research and an advisory role for the government of Tanzania in science, technology and Innovations in health as well as evidence-based policy and decision making. She is currently, the Chairperson of the Tanzania National Health Ethics Research Committee (NatHREC) at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR).
She is a board member of the NIMR Council and a member of the Board of Trustees of the MNH/Mloganzila National Hospital. l. She represents Tanzania at the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials General Assembly. She is highly committed to contributing her skills and expertise to teams that deliver healthcare solutions to society. Her current research is focused on “Neurophysiological rehabilitation of children with stroke/silent cerebral infracts due to Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) by using innovative ICT-based tiles.
